HI ALL! well 2011 is coming to an end and what a whirlwind year it's been. I have been doing a lot of films this year, including roles on Big Sur, Cherry, Bismarck, White Rabbit and Of Men & Mavericks. Music has been great with gigs with Los Diablos De Amor (The Devils of Love) and tons of sessions and writing for new projects. Our film "The Confessional" continues to capture interest as it gets "discovered" and is now represented by House of Film in Beverly Hills Ca. Overall life is good and busy and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work and do my talents. Thankfulness is the word that comes to my mind. I am thankful for you and all the world is showing to me, so as we end 2011 and move forward towards 2012 I just want to say- Thank you. A much heartfelt Happy Holidays and may your life be filled with joy & wonderment !

Long time no updates all!! sorry to be so lazy! But I have been slammed with gigs,films and more. Our film was picked up and went to Berlin, Cannes and more via House of Film. I've been writing a lot of new music and that and some more archival music is being released before the end of the year. The last year also includes film day player roles in the films: Contagion, Big Sur, Cherry, and an untitled film I am working on now as of this writing. So it has been a busy year! I will start back with monthly updates for now and keep any of you interested informed. Thanks for your support and may the muse stay with me all my life~

Hey fans..here it is. 2010 has tens of offers for SAG shorts, unfortunately mostly in LA and with waivers. Unfortunately I just can't do. Here in SF.. they don't even have SAG gigs.. regarding LA...i don't even know if they are gems or garbage.. just cant do. here in SF, been doing a lot of prep for music, my new TV idea for series and the projects that have me attached to act/direct or music..... but haven't gone anywhere yet...time to charge for the mental on hold or let em go...
anyways..this decade, I am going to put it out there!, we will see what happens...the good,bad and the ugly..

Hi All, well here we go- into a new decade! this year starts off with a lot of exciting possibilities for all of us I hope. Here at Lionfish and in my little world things look promising. As difficult as these economic times are I still remain positive that people will still want to to hear,see and experience art in all forms and that is what I plan to do. Music,film,acting and writing away to try and bring a little perspective into the world we live in, from the journeys that all of us inspire upon one another. So to the new decade for us all, may it bring us all just a little bit closer to each other. Peace!

Sorry to have been so slow to update my site to any that follow! The last few months have been crazy and exciting! Just the way i like it! The film crossed the country, now it's time to count the tallies! Overall i must say i am happy, great responses from audiences of a wide and diverse group and strong feelings from the score cards..they either love it or hate it..no in between. I think that is a good thing,i'd rather have crazy fans or enemies rather than no effect. 96% positive is good to me..the test run of all major markets gives us some fuel to decide what next. And what is what next? I don't know.. got some great advice from a new friend,,he said ask for help.... he's right ...let's see what people think we should do next...open for suggestions everyone.. i'll read them all!

wow- fortunate enough to get another role on "Trauma" this week, a national VO shot and the premiere of my film @ Landmark in LA ! I am counting my blessings. Good folks on Trauma and good scripts..I hope it does well for everyone. VO's are always a fluke unless the call is for me, i have such a distinctive voice... The Premiere..well i am so grateful to get this far... i hope people enjoy it...time will tell. Whatever happens I have enjoyed this week as hectic as it has been and the people who are apart of it. "let the good times roll"..

The Confessional hits select Landmark Theaters across the country. Opening first in LA, then Sf and Chicago with more dates tba. It is our hope that the film in theaters in various regions will find an audience and encourage the wider release of the movie. October 16th 8 PM is the world premiere at the Landmark Rialto movie palace, a 600 seat theater of grand 1920's design in South Pasadena CA. The following week it plays The Landmark Clay theater in San Francisco. CA. on October 23rd 9 PM. followed by the Landmark Century Centre Theater in Chicago on October 29th, 9 PM.

I will playing a concert at the Viansa Vineyards in Sonoma/Napa wine country on Saturday June 20th, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm. I have the honor of some great musicians joining me! If you can please come for music,wine,food and sun! There is no cover for the show- the vineyard covers you free! Hope to see you there!

The last few months have been so busy I haven't had time to update!
That's the good news, the bad news is like everyone else I am feeling the economy on all fronts. I recently completed a 3 day acting job on the new NBC TV movie (now to be series) 'Trauma" as electrician #2 (got the love the credit) and it should be out soon. NBC has picked it up for a season. Hopefully for all the local talent it will be filmed here.
Lionfish is completing our current projects and ready for new work, which is coming in slowly due to the economy, but still coming.
The Soundtrack CD for "The Confessional" is nearing completion and should be available to coincide with the theatrical release later this summer. As always, I am writing away and creating everyday... "Such is the life we have chosen" as they say from the Godfather,

Atomic Hollywood has for months been trying to put together a film deal for their feature Dark Road. Lionfish has been requested to be the post production company and myself director. After many attempts to fund by Atomic Hollywood it still has not completed funding. We just want to be clear to all that Lionfish and myself are for hire only upon deposit and funding and are not the principals of this project. Atomic Hollywood is the sole producer of the project.
we will release more news as we get more information from Atomic as to the status of this project.

Just a week ago I was feeling the artist blues...a little self loathing and the rest that comes with this blessed curse of creativity. let's face it , I'm not getting any younger! All these years of faith,trial, and limited opportunities to show what I can really do. It can try anyone, believe me.
This week opened with a bang! Got a nice little role on the new NBC pilot "Trauma" series filming here, picked up two VO''s and an attachment as director to a under 100k short, along with The Dark Road project attachment showing new life as not dead but close to funding (1.7mil). WOW! how a day can change... Just when your thinkin...jump the bridge..
I will give more news as it unfolds...Keep the faith, one more time....take it to the limit.....

Long time no news!! Actually for being in a recession/depression I am doing okay.
Went to the 51st Grammies this year and made a lot of great connections and had some fun. We also finalized in theory our distribution deal with Echelon Studios on the film. The "Dark Road" film I am attached to as director is having a $$$ crunch as everything seems to these days, but still not dead. Meanwhile I've picked up some music,acting and smaller directing gigs to keep the doors open as they say. One thing about hard times , it's good for my artist soul as a writer and things are flowing!! I'll post more in the next week or so about some of the exciting things in the making and what is coming to market from Lionfish in 2009.

James Anthony Cotton has signed on as the attached director to the new feature film 'Dark Road" with Atomic Hollywood Pictures. This Sci-Fi thriller is in final stages of development and expected to go into production in the 2nd quarter of 2009. Star talent has been attached to the project and future press releases will announce the leads of the film early 2009. Distribution of the film has been secured.

Pacific Financial Corporation will be using Lionfish for full design,creative and production services in their new ad campaign. Production is in development.

The Lionfish Group has moved into their new corporate offices in Alameda. We are still in the same building but now have a bigger and more desirable layout and facilities for our productions. We will be fully moved in by October 1st 2008. Our suites of 211C and 212 we be closed down then and our new suite 251 will be fully operational. We are and will still be operating on current projects during the move.

Atomic Pictures Inc. has selected The Lionfish Group for the development and associated production of their next Feature film. More information will be announced as the details are worked out.

We will be filming and exploring Kaua'i (the Garden Isle) the first week of August.
The HD footage will be sold to stock houses.

James has been busy writing for two new films, due to NDA agreements no info may be released. The only thing we can say is that the songs are wonderful and heartfelt and the films are to be released 2010 and 2011. More info as we get closer to release dates.

The Lionfish Group under Director/Producer James Anthony Cotton and his team completes 4 totally different style corporate videos all in one month! We'll need a few days off till we start back up with 3 new soon to be announced exciting projects along with the final readying for delivery of our film 'The Confessional" which is now slated for limited theatrical release later this year.

I recently completed a week booking as the "hero" talent on a new interactive television commercial. Directed by Ivan Zaccharis an amazingly talented director for Smuggler films and Chiat/Day. The finished three minute mini-movie interactive commercial is scheduled to air sometime around Sept. 2008.
It will push the boundaries of what we think of as commercials.
